The Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer

چکیده
It consisted of 40 panels arranged in a ’horseshoe’ shape in a room measuring 10 by 17 meters. The 40 panels housed the different units making up the ENIAC, connected to each other by electrical cables. The configuration of these cables was part of the way the machine was programmed to solve a specific problem. Instead of writing instructions and loading them into memory, the ENIAC operated based upon the settings of various switches and cables. This design was chosen because it was planned that the machine would be used to solve one type of problem repeatedly for different sets of input data. [3], [1]

THD Analysis in Closed-Loop Analog PWM Class-D Amplifiers
In this paper, we investigate the parameters affecting Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR) in PWM Class D Amplifiers (CDAs) on the basis of linear models with feedback. From our mathematical analysis, we show that the THD of a PWM Class D amplifier with feedback can be improved by increasing the gain of the integrator through adding another amplifier at the o...
متن کاملDesign Modification of Rogowski Coil for Current Measurement in Low Frequency
The principle object of this paper is to offer a modified design of Rogowski coil based on its frequency response. The improvement of the integrator circuit for nullifying the phase difference between the waveforms of the measured-current and the corresponding terminal voltage is a further object of this investigation. This paper addresses an accurate, yet more efficient measuring and protect...
متن کاملA Java Simulator for the ENIAC
Sixty years ago, in February 2006, the ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was officially presented to the public at the Moore School of Engineering of the University of Pennsylvania [1]. The story of the ENIAC has been told many times, but beginning with the 50 th Anniversary in 1996, there has been a new surge of interest about the machine and its functionality. Jan van der S...
متن کاملNonlinear Reset Integrator Control Design: Application to the Active Suspension Control of Vehicles
We present an unexampled reset integrator control design based on the Clegg integrator system. Using an appropriate mathematical model of our Clegg integrator controller, stability proof of the closed-loop system applied to the vibration control problem of a second-order system is shown without invoking hybrid system theory. Furthermore, we illustrate the applicability of our controller, from t...
